It's been bugging me for some time now that I haven't had a decent space/area to take pictures of my kreations. I didn't like taking them in the kitchen, the living room, etc. with all the extras in the "background". I know that some of my fellow crafters have photo boxes. I looked into these on eBay and Amazon but they are just not in my budget at this time so I got to thinking....."How could I make my own?" Well, I did it, sort of. LOL :) This is what I did.... I took a piece of foam board (You know like the kind the kids use for school projects and stuff?) and I cut it in half. Yep, that's it! One half is for the bottom and the other half is for the back. If you scroll down my blog posts you can see that I used this "photo box" when I took pictures of the holiday swap cards I made.
I hope this helped someone. With a little imagination we can quickly, easily and inexpensively use what we have on hand to be kreative.

If you kreate something like this or have kreated something like this please feel free to share.

Candace from Paper Crafts By Candace hosted a Holiday Cricut Cut Swap. Here's how it worked:
I (along with many others) mailed her 15 holiday themed Cricut cuts (about 3"), I chose the turkey from Create A Critter , she divided them up and I got in return 15 holiday cuts from other crafters. Here are some of the cuts I received. You could use these cuts for cards, layouts whatever. I chose to make cards. :) What I really liked about this was that the cuts were already done so all I had to do was basically assemble. These cards were quick and easy and I must say I LOVE how they turned out. The "Happy Halloween" card is my favorite. I'm looking forward to participating in more swaps with Candace. :)

Well, I finally did it. I made my own foil embossed card. I LOVE how it turned out. I used heavy duty foil and folded it up giving it a good amount of thickness and sturdiness. I will most definitely be using this technique again. I love the fancy classy look the foil gives this card.

Thank you fellow crafters for sharing your ideas and cards with us. Your inspirational videos and cards pushed me to finally try this out for myself.

I hope you like it. :)

Melissa over at Scrappy Jak (Give her a "like" over on FaceBook) has begun hosting a monthly card club. She sends us blank cards, some paper and other embelishments and our only rule is to use some of all the materials sent plus we can add our own as we see fit/necessary. These are the cards I completed for the first month. I've been waiting to post these because we had to wait until the end of the month. I KNOW it's not the end end of the month but Melissa was getting too impatient and too excited to see our creations so she said if we were done we could put them up. :) Her cards look great and I can't wait to see what the other ladies & Matt have come up with. You can see too by "liking" her FB page and if you'd like to play along she'll be posting the details for Novembers cards sometime next month.

I love a good challenge. Thanks again Melissa/Scrappy Jak

As some of you know yesterday was my birthday. 9/19, my favorite :) Any-hoo, growing up I never knew anybody I shared a birthday with until I turned 16 and found out my chiropractor and I shared a birthday. Just me and Dr. Bova, Well, I digress. When I turned 24 my best friend had her 3rd child on my birthday and ever since that time I have met so many people that share the most wonderful day of the year with me. They are...

1) Dr. Bova, my chiropractor.
2) Mark Polk, my best friends son
3) Jessica Baez, my college classmates daughter
4) Cricut Dan, The Cricut MAN!
5) Mairead, my daughters classmate
6) Mrs. Kenny, my daughters teacher

I'm no statistician (ok, that's a hard one to spell) but seriously, I wonder what the odds are of knowing SIX people that share a birthday with you?

Happy birthday to ya'll :)

I cannot believe it has been so long since I posted something kreative. Life has been crazy for me the last few weeks but now that things are beginning to settle down some I finally got the chance to sit down and create a little sumtin' sumtin'.

I LOVE how this turned out. It is a shape card and since I don't have a Gypsy to weld the front and back together I just cut 2 separate pieces, scored the back piece at 3/4" and adhered it to the front. I inked the igloo lines and drew stitching around the outer edges. The igloo is cut at 4 1/2" and the penguin is cut at 3". The sentiment is cut at 1". I'm totally loving the googly eyes, the fancy scarf and of course the stickles on the word just.

Yeah, I'm feelin' it, I'm getting my grove back. Can't wait til I can start putting shelving and storage in my Kraft Kove. It's AWESOME to have my own space to craft, no matter how small, and not have to share with the dinner plates. LOL

WOW....I cannot believe it's been almost 2 weeks since my last post. Life has been crazy, as it often is. We went tent camping in Allegany State Park for 5 days. It was nice for the first 1.5days then it rained for another 1.5days :'( Thankfully my husband was prepared and brought a 60x60 tarp and draped it over most of our campsite. It wasn't the GREATEST trip but it wasn't HORRIBLE. Of course we can't wait to do it again but I think our tent camping days may be over. My husbands back is just TOO bad to be sleeping on the ground anymore.
As soon as we got back from camping it was time to get serious about moving. Packing, packing and more packing and then cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning. The previous tenants of the house we moved into left the place a DISASTER. It was almost so bad that we were going to look for another place. :'( BUT, after my mother and I spent over 15hrs cleaning the place from top to bottom and tossed a ton of garbage it was "liveable". We moved on Sat. (9/11) and I have been busting tail getting things in order. There is still alot to do but it's coming along quite well. And BONUS....there's a small room off my bedroom that I am going to be setting up as my Krafting Kove. :) I'm so excited to have my own space to scrap and craft. It's been hard only having the dining room table and having to put away and store EVERYTHING at the end of my craft session. I'm determined keep it clean and neat and spend lots of time in there :) Once everything is all set I promise to share some pics with you. :)
I was planning on creating something tonight but I am just too tired. Hopefully tomorrow. There's not too much left to do. Well, not too my physically demanding stuff anyway.
