Hello Everyone!
Welcome to the launch of:
Scrappin Roots Monthly Layout Challenge.

After the response I received from my Scrappin Roots Blog Hop I knew I wanted to kick this off. So many of us out there began papercrafting by doing layouts and scrapping those special moments in our lives. Unfortunately for me and many of you we have kinda tossed that aside (meanwhile getting so far behind we'll never catch up) for the instant gratification of cards and deco projects. This challenge series is designed to give you that little nudge and encouragement you need to catch up just a little.

I am so excited to be kicking off the first ever challenge.
Here's how it's going to work:
*Each month we will have a theme. (This months theme is birthdays because today (2/25) is my daughter's 6th birthday. :)
*I will have guest designers every month and they will do a layout in the theme of that month.
*You will have the opportunity to play along as well by linking your layout to Mr. Linky (Between 2/25-3/5 this time around)
*Blog candy will be up for grabs! Winners will be chosen (On 3/6) using Random.org :)
*You can submit a NEW 1 or 2 page layout that coincides with the theme of the month. (One submission per person, per month please)

So without further ado here is my lo for the month.
LOVE how this lo turned out. It's for my baby girl's 6th birthday.
This lo is divided into 4 sections. In the first section I created a "banner" with my faux twine and 1" circles I punched out, inked, folded in half and blinged out with some rhinestones. I also added a J from the Blackletter cartridge (I LOVE my Gypsy).
In the second section I have mats for 2-3"x4" pics. (Which I haven't added because I haven't taken them yet. I will do that later today)
The 3rd section is a journaling box, if you lift up on the ribbon there is a place to journal underneath.
The 4th box is a fun cupcake from Create A Critter.
I kinda stepped out of the box on this one because as a rule I don't mix patterns unless they are in the same stack or on the other side of double sided paper. I think I lucked out and it worked for me this time around. LOL
So are you ready to make your own BIRTHDAY layout?
Remember it can be a one or two page layout.
Wanna know what's up for grabs?

I gave a pair of these scissors to my Mom for Christmas and she LOVES them and I'm sure you will too.

Here are the guidelines one more time:
1) You must link your project to Mr. Linky
2) Please leave a comment.
3) Deadline to link your project is 3/5/11 11:59PST (Giving the Westies time to get in on the fun)

Can't wait to see your BIRTHDAY lo's.
Keep Kreating,
Erin

Have I told you how much I LOVE Lauren's stamps? I cannot wait for her next round of releases. 40:31 Creations ROCK! and I am honored to be a part of their design team.

For this weeks project anything goes. I have been dying to use the Marriage Quotes and/or Marriage Titles and this is how I was able to incorporate both sets in one design.

I made this layout without use of the Cricut or the Gypsy. Kinda old school but still very beautiful. I wanted to show you and remind you that you can create a beautiful project without our favorite machines. :) I know it's simple and the pictures honestly don't do it justice but I am so pleased with the end result. If you haven't tried or incorporated tulle in one of your projects you should give it a try. It's super cheap and fairly easy to work with and it gives it such a nice touch.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will look for my Scrappin Roots Monthly Layout Challenges beginning 2/25.
In the meantime....
Keep Kreating,
Erin

Hello friends.

Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. This weeks challenge is embossing. Any project with any type of embossing. Dry, wet or heat embossing. I LOVE dry embossing with my CuttleBug but I have recently begun heat embossing and I'm beginning to love that just as much. For today's challenge I created a tag using heat embossing.

Here it is:
I realize that it is very hard to see but the sentiment "sending you love"  which is from 40:31 Creations stamp set "Say Something" is heat embossed using UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel).

This was my  very first attempt at a tag. I created this tag for a swap and I was very nervous about it. I didn't know what I was getting myself into and almost backed out BUT I LOVE how they turned out. I can't wait to see what the other ladies have to share.

Now it's your turn. Show us your best embossed projects and post them to the FCCB blog. I can't wait to see what you have to show us.
Keep Kreating,
Erin

Hello Again!

Welcome to another 40:31 Creations Design Team Day.
I am once again excited to share with you what I have been able to create using Lauren's new & fabulous stamp line.

This week I got a GYPSY! I am so excited I was finally able to get one. I have been "needing" one for months now. My first order of Gypsy business was to weld letters and make shape cards.

Here's what I made especially for you today....

I LOVE coffee. Those that know me well know that I can and will drink coffee 24/7. This sentiment is PERFECT for me. I know there are a lot of Starbucks fans out there but for me it's gotta be
Tim Horton's. (Medium double-double, please!)
Lauren is launching another set of stamps in the next few week. I'm so honored and excited to be a part of her fabulous DT. Thank  you Lauren.

Also, Congratulations to Lauren and her family. She and her husband found their dream home this week. You'll love your new town. It's fabulous up there. :)

Happy Weekend
&
Keep Kreating Ya'll,
Erin
Good Friday morning all my crafty blog stalking friends.

Ann from Yours TruLee asked me to be a guest designer on her blog today. She wanted me to create something friend/friendship. I really wanted to create something for HER. She has been such a great friend and encouragement to me in so many way. I have know Ann now for, WOW! about 10yrs. She married my friend Tim and he got himself a good one. She is such a sweet heart. She loves the Lord and His people. She also has a burden to see others know him.
She has given her heart and life to Him. She is currently serving at Shalom Baptist Church and her and her husband are the dorm parents at Midwestern Baptist College. I am blessed to know her and to see how much she loves what she does. She is the dorm "mother" to 3 very special young people from my church. I have known Angela, Ruth and Sam since the day they were born and have watched them grow up and now move away. There is comfort in knowing they are being looked after by such a wonderful couple.
Ann blessed me, once again, this week with a very special gift. She sent me my choice of Cricut cartridges. I chose Winter Frolic. I have admired all the cuts on that cart. Especially the nativity pieces. As a special thank you I wanted to make her this special card...

I posted this pic in sepia because I wanted to keep an element of surprise for Ann. This card is full of firsts for me. I just got my Gypsy this week and began to be able to play with it yesterday so the word friends is cut from Gypsy Wanderings. The letters are also covered in glitter which I have never done before. Plus, just because I know she loves them, I layered a flower on top of the flower. The next new first is the eyelets. I have never used 3/16th eyelets before. Lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment using black embossing powder. I love how it all turned out. Perhaps when she receives it she will post pics so you can see all the pretty colors.

Thank you Ann for being a friend. Thank you for encouraging me to craft and blog. Thank you for sending me little goodies and thank you for being the example of a true friend. Not only to me but to everyone you meet.

Your friendship and example of true friendship means a great deal to me.

A Big Cricut Hello & Chirp to each of you! Welcome to the Cricky Across the 50 Blog Hop hosted by K Andrew of Getting Cricky!
If you are here from New Mexico aka Flair and Frills then you are traveling in the right direction. If you just happen to be visiting and would like to start from the beginning please go to KAndrew's Getting Cricky
For this blog hop K Andrew is celebrating her big move across the country with a big road trip, and of course this hop across the 50 states! She has asked us all to post a little bit about the state we are representing, and then post our Favorite Craft Project.
I am representing the state of New York. I was born and bread here and although I have not done a great deal of traveling within the state I do have my favorite spots.
This is a photo of my most favoritest spot in the whole world. Allegany State Park {heart}

Here's an interesting yet useless bit of information about our great state:
New York was the first state to require license plates for cars.
See I told you interesting AND useless.

For this hop I wanted to incorporate my favorite place in the whole world which is Allegany State Park. I have been visiting and camping at ASP for almost 25 years (Yes, I'm old :). We've picniced there, hiked there and camped there (in both cabin and tent). It really is my happy place. I created this layout to preserve the memories of our 2010 tent camping trip.

This 2 page layout has a spot for up to 12 photos as well as 4 journaling tags. I put a lot of dimension into this LO using my CuttleBug and pop dots. Each Cricut cut is from Simply Charmed and represents a glimpse of which photos I will be placing on this LO. (PS: The pic of the trees above is a photo I took myself and it will be placed on this LO)
The Tree represents the GORGEOUS forestry in the park. It's just so beautiful and breath taking just to soak up God's handiwork.
The Fishing pole and fish represents the fun fishing you can do at one of the many lakes within the park. My kids like to fish but like me they won't touch the fish once it's hooked. That's why we bring daddy along. LOL
The sand and bucket is for the 2 gorgeous beaches. This year we went to the Red House Beach and I think I love it more than the Quaker Beach.
The hot dog of course represents the good 'ole camp food we stuff ourselves with the whole time we're there. Diet and nutrition is out the window when we are at camp. If you want S'mores for dinner and popcorn for breakfast then by all means that is what you get. :)

Here is a close up of the journaling tags. I could not stop inking the edges on this LO there is ink everywhere. :)

Before you take off for North Carolina I want to give you a chance to win some blog candy. I will be giving one lucky winner (chosen by Random.org) an embellishment bundle. The bundle includes eyelets, brads, rhinestones, etc. To win, you don't have to be a follower but if you like what you see feel free to follow. Please leave me a comment with a way to get in touch with you should you win and tell me what your favorite place to visit is. Winners will be chose on Monday 2/14.

Please make sure to leave comments on ALL of the blogs for a chance to win a ton of different Grand Prizes on Getting Cricky's blog, from these great companies: Scrap N Tote, Scrap N Easel, Cri-Kits, Creative Charms, Memory Miser, Scrappy Chic Cafe, Loralie Designs, My Pink Stamper, Peachy Keen Stamps, Cricut Town, The Scrappin' Table, Piktails, and Pink by Design
Please make sure to visit ALL the blogs, as EVERY single blog will have fabulous giveaways (cricut cartridges, paper packs, copic markers, yourstory bundle, clear stamp sets, and tons more). Each blogger was extremely generous with their own personal giveaways

I hope you are enjoying your "hop" across the country. Your next stop will be North Carolina aka redwolfSCRAPS.

If you don't have a chance to visit the whole country in one day don't worry our hop will be up and running all weekend (Friday 9am thru Sunday).

Enjoy your trip

Happy Friday my fellow blog stalkers followers.
Today is going to be a great day. Not only do I get to order my Gypsy it's also our 2nd post as a design team for 40:31 Creations. SO excited to be a part of this DT. Lauren has come out with five fabulous sets of stamps and there are more to come in the VERY VERY near future. Stay tuned you don't wanna miss a thing.
Since many of Lauren's stamps are a little larger than the standard sentiment stamps they are GREAT for scrapbooking and layouts. This week's projects are all layouts. :) I am so getting back into layouts so I was excited to do this one. I admit it was somewhat rushed but I LOVE how it came out. It's too freaking adorable.

Check it out:

 It's a 12x12 baby girl layout.Isn't it sweet?
There are spots for 4- 3"x3" photos.
"Ten little fingers and ten little toes"....so sweet. Don't you just love the font? So many of Lauren's stamps look like my handwriting. I love it.
This onesie is cut at 3" and is from B is for Boy. I just girlie-fied it.
This safety pin is from Simply Sweet. I cut it twice for layering. The bottom is recycled silver chipboard and the top is pink cardstock.
The bottle is cut from Doodle Type. I hand wrote the 2oz & 4oz marks.
I have somewhat of an addiction to inking the edges of EVERYTHING lately, can you tell? LOL

I hope you enjoyed my layout. Don't forget to check out all the DT's projects. You can find links to the entire team here.

Keep Kreating,
Erin

Welcome to SpantastiKreations and the fourth Fantabulous Cricut Crawl...Fantabulous Cricut's version of a blog hop!

Valentine's Day is in a week and everyone at Fantabulous Cricut has decided to Share the Love!   Each talented Design Team member will be featuring an original Valentine-themed project that includes the word LOVE somewhere on it.

If you've come from visiting Elsa, (her project WAS Fantabulous don't you think?) you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with our Fantabulous Cricut Crawl, start HERE.

Make sure to check out each Design Team member's blog for some awesome inspiration! There will be PRIZES up for grabs at FCCB for one participant that submits a "Share the Love" project on the  FCCB!

Who doesn't like prizes, right?

For my project today I chose to make a door hanging. I LOVE to make seasonal/holiday things to hang on my front door.
I made this 5 section door hanger with the "chipboard" I recycled from a packet of Post-it craft paper I received as blog candy. Recycle, Reduce and Reuse. It's like the circle of life. :)
I made two pink hearts (all cuts are from Simply Charmed)
 And two red hearts.
Love IS in the air with this adorable little love bug hanging around.
(This stamp is on the LOVE set from 40:31 Creations and is available for purchase on Lauren's blog)
How about you? Do you like to decorate your front door (or any other area in your house) with paper crafts for the seasons/holidays?

Now it's your turn! Let's see your Share the Love projects!  Make sure to include a Cricut cut somewhere on your project and the word Love!

Your next stop is the amazingly talented Helen!
Go see what she has in store for you today... And when you're done, make sure to link up your project to FCCB's Fantabulous Cricut Crawl post to be entered into the contest!

Happy Saturday and welcome to the
Lots of Love Blog Hop!
If you have come from Candace's blog you are right on track. If you just happened to be visiting my blog today please head on over to Kimi & Pamela's blog and start hopping from there.

Valentine's day is quickly approaching and who doesn't LOVE the pretty decorations and crafts that go along with it? Today's blog hop centers on just that "Lots of Love"
I had such a hard time deciding what I wanted to do for this hop and after several so-so projects I finally fell in love with this layout.

It's a one page layout with enough room for at least 3 photos and journaling.
I used my new cart Celebrate With Flourish. I love how the Lite carts layer. They are so easy.
Isn't this strawberry yummy. I embossed it with the Swiss Dots folder to give it that seeded look. I also inked the embossing.
I got my iRock in the mail right in the middle of this project so I got to bling it up.

I drew the journaling card by hand.
I hope you enjoyed my layout. I'm working on doing more layouts and possibly incorporating them into a monthly blog challenge. Stay tuned.

Good Tuesday Morning Ya'll!
I am so excited because today is the day we get to share our first Design Team project for 40:31 Creations.  Lauren just launched her first ever stamp sets and I gotta say I LOVE them. They are great for cards and even scrapbooking because some of them are a little larger than the average sentiment stamps.
The first set she sent to us (her dt) was the LOVE stamp set. It's perfect not only for Valentine's Day cards and projects but also for everyday project throughout the whole year.
To showcase her first set of stamps I wanted to make a project using as many of the stamps as I could.

Here's what I made:

I LOVE how this turned out. I realize that I am NOT the first person to make one of these adorable boxes but I am the first to post one on MY blog. LOL
This is a smaller version of the popular 12x12 box which would be perfect for little party favors.

Details:
6"x6" Ruby Red Core D'nations card stock (scored at 2" on all 4 sides)
4pc of 1 3/4" printed DCWV paper
4pc of 1 1/2" printed DCWV paper
4-1 1/2" white hearts from CAC
4-1 1/4" pink hearts from CAC
Red Ink
40:31 Creations Love Stamps (Kiss me, I {heart} you, My love & Be mine.)
UTEE: Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel
ATG adhesive
Adhesive foam squares
White sheer & White satin ribbon

I was excited to finally be able to use the UTEE my good friend Ann from Yours TruLee sent me a while back. Thanks to my mom for buying me a heat gun. I gotta say I LOVE embossing. It may become an obsession  a problem my new favorite thing. LOL

I hope you get a chance to check out all the fabulous projects from the talented DT and if you like what you see hop on over to Laruen's blog and order your very own set of LOVE stamps. Better yet order ALL 5 new sets. :)

Have A Great Day!
Keep Kreating,
